Important Notes

If you have an emergency situation (An emergency is defined as an applicant being served eviction notice or legal papers that requires legal action as the filing of a court document or an appearance in court less than 3 business days from today's date.) Please contact your local Legal Aid office.

    Criminal Cases

Funding restrictions prohibits us from assisting with most criminal cases. We may be able to advise or assist with certain certain criminal record expunction's and non disclosure requests.

Each office may have their own process of handling intake. We provide information and forms to provide a better understanding of the application process. You’re welcome to fill out them out, but please understand the office may not be able to get you in to see an attorney right away.

Check our eligibility requirements to see if you might qualify for legal assistance.

Determine where your local Legal Aid office is located and when that office receives new applications for assistance, If you live outside the DFW Metroplex you may apply over the telephone by calling 888-529-5277.

Fill out our general application form and any other forms relevant to your situation.

While these forms are provided for your convenience, it is important to understand that you must call for an appointment before coming into any office location.  You can also take the completed form to any scheduled clinic unless it is also by appointment only.  You can find the schedules posted under each office’s page in this website but call the office to see if an appointment is necessary for the outreach clinics as well.

Gather up all relevant documents including any court documents, contracts, leases, bank statements, income verifying documents, etc... and bring that information with you to your appointment. You must make an appointment prior to visiting the office.
