Founded in 1951 by community leaders and members of the legal community, Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas began with the support of local individuals and philanthropists.  While today we receive grant support on the local, state, and national level, the community remains the cornerstone of our enthusiasm as we serve those who need us most.

We continue to receive hundreds of contributions each year from attorneys, judges, other individuals and philanthropists.  While Legal Aid remains financially strong, Texas ranks 43rd in the nation in funding for legal aid to the poor.  Legal Aid of NorthWest Texas, which serves an area larger than the state of Colorado, cannot provide assistance to all who need our help.
